Cristiano Ronaldo delivered another World Cup night to remember as Portugal beat Uzbekistan 5-0 in a dominant Group K performance at Houston Stadium.

Portugal started with control and confidence, and it did not take long for Ronaldo to make his mark. In the 6th minute, the captain opened the scoring and gave Portugal the perfect start. It was the kind of moment Portugal wanted early, and the kind of moment Ronaldo has built his career on.

Nuno Mendes doubled the lead in the 17th minute, putting Portugal in full command before Uzbekistan had time to settle into the match. Portugal moved the ball with patience, attacked with speed, and kept pushing Uzbekistan deeper into their own half.

Ronaldo then struck again in the 39th minute to make it 3-0 before half-time. Two goals, one captain, and another reminder that CR7 still knows exactly where the net is on the biggest stage.

Uzbekistan tried to respond after the break, but Portugal stayed in control. The fourth goal arrived in the 60th minute when Abduvohid Nematov turned the ball into his own net, making the task even harder for the World Cup debutants.

Portugal used the second half to manage the game, rotate players, and keep the pressure steady. Rafael Leão added the final touch in the 87th minute, scoring Portugal’s fifth goal and sealing a complete performance.

For Portugal, this was more than just a big win. After their opening draw against DR Congo, this result brings confidence, goals, and momentum back into the group stage. For Ronaldo, the story was clear: another match, another record-chasing night, and another reminder that he is not finished yet.

Portugal leave Houston with five goals, three points, and a captain who once again turned the spotlight into his stage.
