Switzerland ended Algeria’s World Cup journey with a controlled 2-0 win in the Round of 32 at BC Place Vancouver.

The Swiss made the perfect start, taking the lead after just 10 minutes through Breel Embolo. Algeria tried to respond and grow into the match, but Switzerland stayed organized and limited the danger in the first half.

Any hope of an Algerian comeback became much harder just after the break. Dan Ndoye scored in the 46th minute to double Switzerland’s lead and put his side in full control. Algeria made changes in the second half, with players like Riyad Mahrez introduced to bring more creativity, but the North African side could not find a way back.

Switzerland managed the final stages well, keeping their clean sheet and protecting the result with confidence. For Algeria, it was a painful night after reaching the knockout stage, but they could not break down a disciplined Swiss team.

The 2-0 victory sends Switzerland into the next round, while Algeria bow out of the FIFA World Cup after a difficult defeat in Vancouver.
